I fell in love with lace knitting years ago. I started using fingering yarn and simple shawl patterns. With experience yarn got thinner and eventually patterns were written by me. I tried knitting traditional Haapsalu shawls, but following all those rules wasn’t for me. I didn’t want any restrictions in my creations. I wanted total freedom, so I started my own thing.
Estonian lace is most famous for the nupps, that can be knitted only by hand and patterns that are often inspired by nature. Modern Estonian lace is taking it to the next level without any restrictions. Playing with colors, different stitches, techniques and layout of motifs result in modern and unique shawls that are perfect for every occasion.
